Apunts. Educación Física y Deportes is a multidisciplinary scientific journal edited by the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia (Spain) which was founded in 1985. It is a trilingual journal (Catalan, Spanish, and English) that uses the double-blind peer review process and is covered by several major indexing services including Web of Science (ESCI) and Scopus. It publishes original scientific articles in the fields of human motricity, physical education and sport sciences in digital format www.revista-apunts.com.
Four ONLINE issues are published per year (quarterly).
With the goal of communicating and disseminating the scientific output in the fields of physical education and sport sciences, Apunts. Educación Física y Deportes only accepts original studies coming from a research-validated by scientific committees that contribute significant new developments: grounded theoretical approaches, innovative methodological approaches, and rigorous survey articles.
This publication is targeted at anyone in academia or the professional world interested in and associated with research in the physical activity and sport sciences. Apunts. Educación Física y Deportes is a benchmark scientific journal in Spain and Latin America.

The new section Scientific Notes has been incorporated, short scientific articles that follow a predetermined template and are geared at new developments and prospective scientific studies.
In order to reach the target demands of scientific rigor in the studies published, the journal requires strict compliance with:
- the criteria stipulated by the highest publishing standards;
- the criteria of scientific rigor through its admission policy of received articles, the rigorous evaluation of submissions and the rejection rate;
- standardized publishing norms following the American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines and formatting rules;
- quarterly publishing.
Apunts. Educación Física y Deportes is open-access included in the DOAJ: online directory. More than 1500 articles can be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, searched, or linked with the complete texts, given that all the studies published are subjected to the Creative Commons license.
